GENERAL TERMS & CONDITIONS:
Prega News Parar Doshobhuja, a unique grassroots talent identification competition amongst women is brought to you by Mankind Pharma Limited. Participation is open to women of Indian origin; the competition will be held at select locations in West Bengal, India. The selected locations/cities are: North Kolkata, South Kolkata, Baruipur/ Sonarpur, Barasat, Howrah city, Chandannagar/Chinsurah, Burdwan town, Durgapur town, Asansol town, Berhampur town, Malda town, Siliguri town, Krishnanagar town, Bolpur town, Medinipur Town, Bankura town & Purulia town. In each of the above-mentioned locations, 4 to 7 Puja committee/club puja pandal/premises will be the venue of this competition.
This competition will be conducted in two rounds: First round will be held at your nearest selected Puja Pandal/premises, and second round (Grand Finale) will be held in Kolkata.
1st Round: All contestants need to participate for the first round in the above mentioned cities/towns only. At the end of the first round the winner and the first runner-up will be announced. Once all the competition at the selected Puja premises of that particular city is completed, all the performance videos of the top winners from each puja location will be further judged by the organising jury committee appointed by Mankind Pharma. Only the top two contestants from that city will be short listed for the final round (grand finale) in Kolkata. Hence top 34 contestants from 17 cities will qualify for the grand finale.
2nd Round: These 34 contestants will perform at the Grand Finale in Kolkata in front of the celebrity judges. The grand finale will be held in a five star hotel in Kolkata on 22nd October 2024. The judges’ panel will declare the top three Doshobhujas (winner, 1st runner-up & 2nd runner-up) of this year’s Parar Doshobhuja event. The winner will get Rs.75,000/-, 1st runner-up will get Rs.50,000/- & 2nd runner-up will get Rs.25,000 along with certificates and trophies. All prize monies will be given in the form of bank cheques after deduction of applicable Govt. taxes. All 34 Location Winners will receive Gift Vouchers & certificates.
REGISTRATION PROCESS FOR CONTESTANTS:
A participant can register for this competition in 2 different ways:
- Register through the website, https://preganews.com/doshobhuja/: Participants need to select the nearest Pujo Committee from the list mentioned on the website. Participants are to mention their location on the registration form. If the preferred Pujo Committee is not part of the list, participants can select any other nearby Pujo Committee from the available list of locations. All forms will be thoroughly scrutinized and participants will be informed of next steps.
- Register participation with local Puja Committees/Clubs, https://preganews.com/doshobhuja/: The names of all the participating Pujo Committees will be mentioned on the website, willing participants can register through any of these Pujo Committees. Registration form must include the name of the Pujo Committee/Club and the exact location very clearly. Participants can also contact the nearby Pujo/Club Committee to register themselves offline. Pujo/Club Committee can contact us directly to ensure this process and can submit the forms duly filled by the participants. All forms will be thoroughly scrutinized, and participants will be informed of next steps. The last date of offline registrations will be notified on the website as well as on Anandabazar Patrika print advertisement.
RULES FOR THE CONTESTANTS:
- This competition is exclusively open to female participants aged between 18 to 45. A valid age certificate in form of Aadhar/Voter card will need to be submitted.
- The entry to the competition is completely free of cost, all participants are welcome to register without any registration fees.
- The entry to the competition is restricted to 5 categories of cultural performances: Singing, Dancing, Recitation, Dhunuchi Naach and Dhaak Recital
- This is a solo act competition. Group act participations are not allowed. Participants can be accompanied by their own musicians in case they choose singing and recitation. For dancing, Dhunuchi Naach and Dhak Recital, only solo performances will be considered.
- We will notify the date, time and locations (of Puja Committee) for the competition.
- The validity of all submitted registration information, rests on the participants and the puja committees/clubs.
- Entry to the competition is accepted only on accurate and complete filling of the online or physical form. Inaccurate or incomplete documentation will result in disqualification of the entry.
- The preliminary round will be held at the local club/puja committee premises and the participants will perform before a panel of judges appointed by Mankind Pharma or their authorised event agency.
- For the preliminary round, participants will perform in front of the jury empanelled by Mankind Pharma or the authorised organising agency.
- Participants will have to reach the venue by themselves, the venue will be informed to each participant over phone or on the website. Only first 15 participants will be allowed to perform on first come first serve basis.
- All participants must come fully prepared for the performance in the first round, no time will be given for stage rehearsals or practice.
- For the preliminary round, the participants must only use Bengali traditional Folk or traditional tune of Rabindra Sangeet songs for their song/dance performance.
- For the Grand Finale, same music/performance rules will be applicable.
- No remixed, recreated or recorded songs will be allowed, especially if it falls under the purview of copyrighted licenses. Failure to comply with this will lead to disqualification.
- Recommended performance duration is 3 minutes; acts should not exceed more than the stipulated time.
- If any participant chooses to use any non-copyrighted background music for their performances, the track needs to be submitted to a member of the organizing committee well in advance.
- All music/tracks/songs must be submitted in a Pen Drive to a member of the organizing committee well in advance. Pen Drive must be labelled with participants’ name, phone number and the song title. Participants are solely responsible to collect their Pen Drives back after the performance. Failure to do so will not the responsibility of the organizing committee.
- No profanity, political, religious or insensitive content will be allowed under any circumstances. The Conducting Committee will review all performances for appropriateness.
- Costumes should be suitable for all ages, as this is a community event; contestants must bring their own props and costumes.
- The competitors will be judged based on their stage performance and a Question & Answer round and the collective score will be considered for selection.
- The judges’ verdict shall be deemed final and is not subject to any objections from the participants or the Pujo/Club Committees.
- The names of the 34 contestants from the preliminary rounds from the 17 cities will be announced on 15th October 2024 over phone and on the website.
- Grand Finale will be held on 22nd October 2024 where participants need to perform in front of celebrity judges’ panel.
- All 34 finalists must be present at the prize distribution ceremony at the Grand Finale in Kolkata to ensure proper recognition of their achievements.
- If any finalist is not present on 22nd October 2024 at Kolkata, she will be automatically disqualified from the competition.
- Participants should submit partner/sponsor videos as requested by the conducting committee, as per brand guidelines. They should also create and promote contest-related images/videos and co-create content for the Prega News brand and partners as required. All such contents need to be verified and approved by the conducting committee, post which, contestants can post in their social media handles or any other medium. Your participation will automatically confirm your acceptance of all terms & conditions of the competition.
- The trademarks/logos/copyrights and all intellectual property rights associated with the advertising content/Prega News Banners/signages are the exclusive property of Mankind Pharma Limited and the contestants shall assert no claim to any goodwill, reputation or ownership thereof to such intellectual property.
- In any case of disputes, the decision of Mankind Pharma Limited will be final and binding.
- All disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of Delhi High Court.
RULES & REGULATIONS FOR PUJO COMMITTEES:
- All Pujo Committees will be contacted by the Organising Committee to register their Pujos. All Pujo Committees are requested to go through all the terms & conditions of the competition listed on website or our executive can be contacted for the same.
- All Pujo Committees must register their participants without any fees as there is no registration fees to participate in this competition.
- All the participating Pujo Committees must abide by our terms & conditions and the registration form comprising the same must be duly stamped and signed by an appropriate authority of the committee.
- Clubs who are organising Durga Pujo in their premises can only register for this competition.
- The clubs / puja committees are to be chosen basis the availability of contestants. The maximum entry of individual participation for each puja committees or clubs can be 15, while the minimum to hold a competition at the premises will be 5.
- If the organising committee selects a participant who is not a resident of the Pujo Committee neighbourhood, the Pujo Committee has to allow the participant to be a part of their contestant list. No objection from the Pujo Committee in this regard will be entertained.
- Pujo Committees must ensure that the branded Prega News flex/banner is/does not get damaged during the auditions.
- No advertisements/signages/banners carrying on or involved in any competitive activities to that of Mankind Pharma Limited shall be allowed to be put up by the contestants in proximity or in conjunction to the advertisements put up by Mankind Pharma Limited.
- The puja committee must offer a dedicated area with a small stage (even the Durga Puja Pandal stage) and a public announcement system for the competition at their premises.
- Each selected club will receive 2 Prega News advertisement Banners (8’x6′) for display at the Puja premises for seven days. Banners should be visible and up throughout Durga Puja until Bijaya Dashami.
- The backdrop provided by the organizing committee (Mankind Pharma) must be displayed on stage during the performances.
- Electronic mics must be provided for the anchor and the performers.
- Chairs and tables must be provided for the jury and the celebrities.
- An exclusive seating arrangement must be made for the distinguished guests inside the club premises before the commencement of the program.
- Pujo Committees must ensure the safety and security of the guests, celebrities, anchor and judges.
- In any case of disputes, the decision of Mankind Pharma Limited will be final and binding.
- All disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of Delhi High Court.
