Remove Preganews Advance test device from the foil pouch just before starting the test. Do not keep it open for a long period of time.
Remove the cap.
Hold the device by the thumb grip with the exposed absorbent tip pointing towards urine stream for at least ten seconds until it is thoroughly wet.
Take care not to urinate on the test and control window.
Remove the device from the urine stream and immediately cover the absorbent tip with the cap,
Keep the device on a flat surface with the window facing upwards and then begin timing.
As the test begins to work , light colored flow starts moving across the test and control window.
Read the result in minutes, observe for the appearance of the lines and interpret the results as follows:
Pregnant: If 2 distinct lines appear in the result window- one at C and one at T (one line may be lighter than the other. They need not match.) This means pregnancy is positive. Confirm with the doctor.
Not Pregnant: Only one pink line appears in the control window C. No line appears in the test window T. This means pregnancy is negative.
Invalid 1: The result is invalid if no line with distinct colour appears in the control window C even if a line appears in the test window T. It is recommended to repeat the test with a new Preganews Advance device.
Invalid 2: If no line appears in both the control and test window, the result is invalid & recommended to repeat the test with a new Preganews Advance device.
In case, if no colored line appears in 3 minutes wait one minute longer. Some positive results may be obtained in one minute or less depending on the concentration of hCG (Human Chorionic Gonadotropin, a hormone which the body produces when there is pregnancy). Do not read the results after 10 minutes.
Test can be performed with the urine as early as the first day of the missed period or later.
Sometimes the test result can be negative probably because of miscalculation of period days. Repeat the test after one week.
Although the test can be performed at any time of the day, for best results early morning urine should be used since it is usually the most concentrated of the day and would have maximum amount of hCG in it.
Infertility drugs containing hCG will interfere with results of the test and give false positive results.
Drinking large amounts of fluids prior to the test can dilute the hormone levels in the urine leading to inaccuracy of the test results.
As with all diagnostic tests, confirmed pregnancy diagnosis should only be made by a Registered Medical Practitioner.
Any Endocrinology treatment under the supervision of a Registered Medical Practitioner should be started only after confirmation of pregnancy by other means.
Used for the detection of Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (hCG) in human urine.
Storage: Store in a cool place below 25 degree celsius. Do not freeze.
For single use only. For in vitro diagnostic use only.
